Reiki Energy Healing
Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a form of energy healing and loosely translates as "universal life force energy". It was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist in the early 1900's.
Essentially, it is a non-invasive, light-touch alternative therapy for the treatment of physical, emotional and mental imbalances, through the practitioner harnessing universal life force energy and directing it to the recipient to draw what's required to come into balance.
What to expect
In one word, relaxation! Essentially, the session starts with a brief consultation, where you may explain what your needs & intentions are for the session. You then lie on a massage table, fully clothed while the practitioner gently places their hands on or hovers their hands over specific parts of your body, associated with the various meridians and energy centres of the body. Ultimately, the experience is different for each individual, while some people may "feel" nothing, others may sense warmth, vibration, tingling or twitching in different areas of the body. Regardless, it is a deeply relaxing experience and many people even fall into a light sleep.

Sessions may also include aromatherapy inhalations, crystals and guided meditation. All which work beautifully with the Reiki system.
